Setting up Auskey in Yosemite

Auskey is a PKI used by the Australian Tax Office to allow businesses to complete their BAS statements online.

This was the nightmare to setup. Here are the steps I followed:

1) Install Java 8 JRE from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html

Select the JRE edition and download the DMG file

Double click the DMG file and select the install package

2) Restart Firefox and click Tools -> Add-ons

Find the Java 8 Applet Plug in and set it to “Always Activate”

3) Click System Preference -> Java (This will open the Java Control Panel Settings in a new window)

Select Advanced

Scroll down to Advanced Settings (right at the bottom)

Disable TLS 1.2

4) Restart Firefox again (yes again, to pickup the TLS change)

5) Now for the Auskey, if you are starting up then register for a new auskey. If you moving from a Windows install copy original Auskey folder from C:\Users\<<USERNAME>>\AppData\Roamings\Auskey to Finder/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/AUSkey

6) Restart Firefox again (if you moved the auskey from a older machine)
